I’m a queer, female visual artist, who has continuously challenged gender roles, social norms, and cultural myths, in my art and in my life. My work/life included roles as a teacher, health care provider, abortion provider, energy healer, full-spectrum doula, meditator, dharma student, artist and writer. My intention is to bring all these aspects of myself into being an artist so that my art can be an expression of my personal, political, emotional, and spiritual journey and I can be a potent instrument of change.
Lilith
Lilith was expelled from the Garden of Eden for refusing to lay beneath Adam. For centuries she has been mythologized and demonized as an evil spirit, a whore, a devil, a witch, exemplifying the negative cultural attitudes attributed toward independent women of their time. I wanted to return Lilith to her rightful place in the Garden of Eden as she deserves.
