This year I’m presenting four watercolors from my quadrennial series of action landscapes that I call “soccerscapes.” During FIFA World Cups, I figuratively immerse myself in the televised space of fútbol matches to capture motifs and moments as they unfold. I intuitively overlap and juxtapose these impressions and partner with the fluid nature of watercolor — each mark, perfect or imperfect, building toward an abstract distillation of the game.
