Janice L. Moore ’86

Janice is an oil painter, arts organizer and curator. She paints in slow motion as a result of living with multiple sclerosis for over thirty years. Her subjects are chairs, islands, factories and work structures in their various states: working, abandoned and repurposed. She is a board member of the Union of Maine Visual Artists and advocates to create opportunities for makers. She paints from her studio in Freeport, Maine.

KB's Studio Chair, Fort Andross Mill, Brunswick Maine

Part of my chair series, this give-away chair was found on the street and is currently being used in a local artist studio.

An empty armchair with the word "FREE" on it is placed in a sunlit room with wooden floors and large windows.

Unmoored (my mother's boathouse)

My mother's boathouse in Nova Scotia that got swept away during a hurricane. Good news...we were able to retrieve it and set it back on good footing. Not even a window was broken!

Brown house tipping into water near a wooden pier, with trees in the background and a blue sky.
