Michele Brody ’89

Since graduating from SLC and receiving an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1994, Michele Brody has pursued an independent practice as an Environmental Installation artist supported by grants from NYFA, Pollock/Krasner, and the Bronx Council on the Arts, as well as residencies at Skowhegan, Headlands Center for the Arts, and Wave Hill. International commissions include exhibitions in France, Costa Rica, and Taiwan, as well as nationally in Arizona, Vermont, and Tennessee. Notable projects in NYC include installations at the LES Tenement and Bronx Museums, as well as public artworks for the MTA and the Department of Education. Recent achievements include the award of the Nature Conservancy’s 2024 Andy Warhol Visual Arts Residency and Second Place in the 2024 Fiber Art Now Winter Excellence in Fibers IX exhibition. Brody recently moved to a new studio in the YOHO Artists' Historic Carpet Mills in Yonkers.
