In May 2023, the National Declaration of Emergency and the World Health Organization Declaration of Emergency related to COVID-19 ended. As a result, Sarah Lawrence College has enacted the following policies related to COVID-19:
- Effective, September 1, 2023, Sarah Lawrence will no longer require COVID-19 vaccination for students, faculty, and staff, though members of the community are encouraged to remain up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccination, in consultation with their physician.
- Sarah Lawrence remains a mask friendly campus for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Members of the College community should feel empowered to wear a mask in any setting of their choosing.
- The College continues to encourage all community members to practice important mitigation measures to keep the virus form spreading on campus by following CDC prevention measures and staying up to date on COVID-19 vaccines.
- Sarah Lawrence continues, in close consultation with the Westchester Department of Health, isolation in place protocols for students. Residential students isolate in their assigned dorm room, commuter students in their off-campus residence.
- The Sarah Lawrence Health & Wellness center continues to test students, by appointment, who have symptoms that are consistent with COVID-19 and guides students who test positive through isolation protocols and the process of notifying their close contacts.
- Faculty and staff who test positive for COVID-19 continue to be eligible for up to five paid sick days for the COVID-19 isolation period.
Sarah Lawrence College will remain vigilant in monitoring COVID-19 conditions on and around campus, and in evaluating relevant public health guidance, and may adjust these policies as needed. Updates will be posted to this site as needed.
