The Hudson River Ecology Course at the Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at Beczak is a college-level introductory ecology course. Students will participate in programming such as seining and water quality testing, but will also explore new concepts and field methods like sediment surveying, bacteria monitoring, plankton collection, fish identification, and oyster monitoring. We will explore concepts of organism relationships, the food web, reproduction and evolution, terrestrial ecosystems in our watershed, and human impacts on the environment. Students are introduced to a variety of environmental-oriented careers to give them more insight into the realm of green careers.
Program Costs
Tuition for the Hudson River Ecology course is $500. Students can choose to pay an additional $450 to be eligible to receive one college credit upon the successful completion of the course.
