Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling

Discover the creative possibilities of Generative AI in filmmaking. This hands-on, one-week course featuring guest speakers from Paramount provides an introduction to the tools and techniques of Generative AI through the creation of a short project such as a music video, ad, or short film reel. Using structured exercises and project-based learning, we'll explore the use of Generative AI to develop a visual narrative including AI-generated characters, environments, and AI-driven visual styles. By the end of the course, you'll have an understanding of how to integrate AI-generated content into your creative workflow. This course is ideal for filmmakers, writers, and creatives looking to explore the creative potential of Generative AI. No prior AI experience is necessary.
Film Portfolio Fundamentals Workshop
Monthly (sessions available monthly from May through October)

Applying to film school can feel overwhelming, but this two-hour virtual, interactive workshop is designed to guide you through creating a standout application or portfolio. Whether you're preparing your portfolio, refining creative samples, or drafting your artist statement, this class will help you showcase your unique storytelling voice and creative skills. Learn what makes a good film school portfolio through interactive discussions, examples of successful submissions, and opportunity for Q&A.
Sessions are held monthly from May through October 2025 and take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. or 8:30-10:30 p.m. ET for select weekday sessions or from 2-4 p.m. ET for weekend sessions.

Our instructors have a broad range of experiences across industries in the digital arts and media space. Bringing these years of experience and an understanding of how to use structured feedback for student success, instructors are dedicated to helping all of our students develop their own unique voice and vision.
Maddy Del Monte
Course: Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling
Maddy Del Monte is the VP of Digital Transformation at Paramount Global, where she leads the Everyday AI program, providing practical AI training. Her experience spans both the creative and technical sides of media, with a strong focus on helping students understand and use emerging tools like generative AI in film, storytelling, and design.
With a passion for education and accessibility in tech and media, Maddy has taught workshops through organizations, bringing AI and creative technologies into the hands of young learners. She’s designed and led high school enrichment programs and has developed summer internship programs for tech interns at major companies.
Whether teaching AI prompting or mentoring students on digital storytelling, Maddy is dedicated to empowering the next generation of creators and innovators.
Tania Romero
Course: Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling
Tania Romero (MFA) is a Nicaraguan filmmaker, media production professor, and scholar with a passion for storytelling and education. Tania has worked on a wide range of short and feature film projects (non-fiction and fiction) as a cinematographer, producer, and writer-director — and brings real-world industry knowledge into the classroom. With her combined experience as a filmmaker and media educator, Tania brings a unique perspective to teaching film as a medium to discover the world. She’s excited to help students explore their creativity using AI, learn the art of storytelling, and develop their own voices through film.
Snapshot of Tania Romero’s industry successes:
- Her films have played at top international festivals, including Cannes; her film Quinceañera (2015) received a San Francisco Film Award of Merit and was shown at several festivals and museums, including the Official Latino Short Film Festival and Mexic-Arte Museum. Her roles have included script supervisor (Sarathi, Clay) and assistant director (A Perfect Cocktail)
- Directed the award-winning documentary Helmets from Heath, which won Judge’s Choice at the Faces of Austin competition and third place at the My Hero International Film Festival
- Editor of the feature documentary Ya Basta which screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW)
C.C. Webster
Courses: Film Portfolio Fundamentals and 1-on-1 Film Portfolio Advising
C.C. Webster holds an MFA in Directing and Screenwriting from Columbia University's School of the Arts. In addition to being an accomplished filmmaker, as an educator, C.C.’s students have gained acceptance to top film programs across the nation. She has taught at institutions including Gotham Writers Workshop, Westchester Community College, Brandeis University, Columbia University, International Film Institute, and Sundance Collab.

- Wrote feature films Blue Ball, PA; Show & Tell; Little Buffalo
- Her script, Missing, won the American Scandinavian Society’s Cultural Grant
- Wrote and directed short films Tracks, Easter, and Civil War, which played at more than 50 film festivals worldwide
