There are a variety of student-managed spaces on the campus, and each space is supervised by a staff member. Events in student-managed spaces are subject to all College policies.
Common Ground (The HUB)
Common Ground supports students of color and student-of-color identity groups while fostering campus-wide dialogue about the perceptions, realities, and consequences of racial and ethnic identity in our society and beyond. This space, located within The HUB, typically serves as a meeting room, event space, lounge area, and resource center for students of color, including members of Harambee, Unidad, and any other student-of-color identity group, but is open to any student or student organization that would benefit from use of the space. Common Ground regularly hosts events with other student organizations, faculty, and administrative offices committed to conversations on belonging, racial and ethnic diversity, and inclusion. Common Ground programming includes speakers, performances, discussions, movie nights, conferences, workshops, and more. For more information, please contact commonground@gm.slc.edu.
LGBTQIA Space (The HUB)
The LGBTQIA Space seeks to create a physical space for LGBTQIA students and LGBTQIA student identity groups to engage in dialogues regarding the realities and perceptions of their identities. The purpose of the space is to uplift LGBTQIA student voices and to foster greater understanding of LGBTQIA identities in the Sarah Lawrence community and abroad. The space hosts group meetings, speakers, workshops, study sessions, and other campus events. It also functions as a meeting room, lounge area, and resource center for LGBTQIA students and their allies. For more information, please contact lgbtqiaspace@gm.slc.edu.
Spiritual Space (The HUB)
The Spiritual Space, which is open to all students from 7 a.m to 2 a.m. every day, provides a quiet atmosphere for meditation, prayer, and sacred observances. The Spiritual Space includes an ablution area, a newly updated religious/spiritual library, and storage for religious and spiritual items. The space may be reserved as a meeting place for religious student organizations and spiritually-based events. For more information, please contact spiritualspace@gm.slc.edu.
Teahaus (North Lawn)
The Teahaus is a small stone building in the center of the North Lawn that provides a quiet space for reading, reflection, and conversation. This student-run space offers light refreshments and a variety of international teas. The Teahaus is open during the day and sometimes hosts poetry readings, study groups, and open-mic nights. Student organizations may also hold meetings or small events in the Teahaus. All proceeds benefit the Students for Students Scholarship Fund (SSSF). For more information, please contact teahaus@gm.slc.edu.
WSLC Student Radio Station (The HUB)
