Brand Identity

Primary contact: Jean Smith, Manager of Creative Services

Media and Community Relations

Primary contact: Judith Schwartzstein, Director of Public Affairs

  • Media Relations
    • The Office of Marketing & Communications issues regular news releases to the media about goings on at the College; these releases are also posted online in the News & Events section. To read recent releases, select the "News Releases" filter in the News Stream.
    • News and other media outlets are combed on a constant basis for mentions of the College or its faculty, students, staff, or alumni. These are known as Sarah Lawrence in the News and Buzz items. Select those filters in the News Stream to view recent items.
    • Occasionally, feature stories are posted on the public Web site to highlight goings on of particular interest.
  • Community Relations
    • The Office of Marketing & Communications works to maintain and improve the College's standing in the local community, especially in the city of Yonkers and the village of Bronxville.
    • InTouch newsletter is published three times a year and sent to neighbors in the 10708 zip code (as well as to anyone who subscribes to the newsletter online). Included in each issue is a calendar of upcoming events. InTouch is also distributed to staff and faculty across campus with an insert called Inside, which details stories and news of special interest to this audience.
    • A Local Community portal on slc.edu aggregates resources from all areas of the College that may be of interest to our friends and neighbors.

Photography and Photo Library

Primary contact: Jean Smith, Manager of Creative Services

  • The Manager of Creative Services evaluates on- and off-campus events to determine which should be covered by a professional or student photographer. Departments that know of an event that might be a candidate for shooting can contact the Manager to discuss the project.
  • Photographs are stored in the Office of Marketing & Communications' Digital Asset Management system. The system catalogs photos using a system of keywords, making it relatively easy to find photos for use in print and online projects.

  • Undergraduate and Graduate Admission Recruitment Materials
A fully integrated collection of materials used in-house to introduce prospective students to the College and keep them engaged during their college and graduate school search process. All current publications are housed in a publications library on the public Web site.
