The Thrive Mentorship Program for Students of Color is a yearlong mentorship program that will connect incoming first year and transfer students of color with upperclass students of color at Sarah Lawrence College. Through intentional engagement and a focus on community building, student participants and leaders will have a better understanding of Sarah Lawrence College’s Principles for Mutual Respect and core values, connect with faculty, staff, and alumni of color; and develop skills related to success in both academic and professional spaces.
The THRIVE program is open to all Sarah Lawrence students who feel such a mentorship opportunity would be beneficial during their first year at the College.
Learning Goals
Through participation in the Thrive program, students will:
- Recognize key campus resources to promote student growth
- Cultivate belonging by connecting with upperclass students
- Build connections with faculty & staff of color on SLC’s campus
- Develop skills related to the transition from high school to college
