Get the structure and support to make your internship truly transformative. This dynamic eight-week program for academic credit pairs with your supervised internship to catalyze your professional growth and deepen your readiness for life beyond college.
Program Overview
Effective communication is key to a successful work experience. Internships, and other authentic work experiences, offer rich experiential learning opportunities for navigating workplace communication. The SLC EmbeddED summer seminar Navigating Workplace Communications aims to enrich key competencies such as working collaboratively, community building, networking, and effectively communicating the skills, knowledge, and abilities you have demonstrated through your work. Students will develop clear goals for their work and integrate their work-based observations with class material, class discussions, weekly reflection assignments, collaborative group work, and observation journals. Students will gain both an academic and experiential understanding of key concepts relevant to their summer work experience and beyond.
Whether you're exploring career possibilities or strategically positioning yourself for post-graduate success, you'll gain the clarity and confidence to navigate your professional future. Through facilitated conversations with a cohort of driven peers, you'll develop essential workplace skills, amplify your impact at your internship, and emerge career-ready (with three more credits towards graduation!) by summer's end.
