Our exclusive membership program is designed for adults aged 55+ who want to keep their curiosity alive. Whether you’re looking for courses for retired people, working part-time, or simply eager to explore new ideas, our Signature Learning Community offers lectures and short courses through our Sarah Lawrence Extension program, which combines academic rigor with flexibility and affordability. These are more than lifelong learning courses for seniors. Signature Learning Community membership gives discounted access to our regular Extension Courses, which can be taken by anyone. Members also have the opportunity to audit undergraduate classes at Sarah Lawrence without needing to be enrolled in a full degree.
- Study beyond our campus: Attend a field trip, a Domestic Study Trip, or a faculty-led Signature Study Abroad Trip exclusively offered to SLC@SLC members and Sarah Lawrence alumni.

What makes this different from other adult learning programs?
The Signature Learning Community at Sarah Lawrence College combines flexibility and affordability with the prestige of a world-class liberal arts college. Our tiered membership enables you to choose the right level for your needs and interests. All membership levels provide discounted access to our Extension Courses. These programs are open to anyone, so you will learn alongside people of all ages.
Who teaches the courses?
Most of our Extension Courses are taught by current or former Sarah Lawrence faculty. Select courses are taught by graduate students eager to share their knowledge with you.
Are the courses only in-person?
Most of our classes are held on our Bronxville campus, but several programs are available online for flexibility. Select courses are also available as recorded options, which provides maximum flexibility to learn in your own home at your own pace.
Do I need prior experience or degrees?
No. Our Signature Learning Community is open to anyone 55 years of age or better. Our Extension Courses can be taken by anyone with curiosity and a love of learning.
Who else will be in my class?
Members of the Signature Learning Community receive discounts on our regular Extension Courses. These classes are open to everyone who has a passion for learning. This means that you may study alongside fellow learners of different ages and nationalities.
Can I audit regular undergraduate courses at Sarah Lawrence College?
