Meet the Team
Julia Goldsamt
Julia Goldsamt (they/them) is the Student Life Coordinator on the First Year Experience Team, working closely with Student Life as well as the Dean of Studies office. Before coming to Sarah Lawrence, Julia gained experience with peer mentorship and academic advising at Bryn Mawr College, and is excited to bring these experiences to the Gryphon Guide Peer Mentorship program! They are passionate about improving access to higher education, and are enthusiastic about the development of the belonging and flourishing program. As a native New Yorker, Julia loves exploring local coffee shops, going on runs in Central Park, and reading on the Metro North train.
Gryphon Guides
Gryphon Guides (GGs) are academic peer mentors for first year and new transfer students. They work within the First Year Experience as Orientation Leaders during virtual and in person orientation events from May - August, and transition to their role as academic peer mentors during the academic year. Gryphon Guides offer support to new students through drop-in office hours, individual outreach, and FYE programming. They provide resource referral, link students to academic support systems, and answer questions related to coursework, co-curricular, and extracurricular opportunities on campus.
