I was first inspired to become an artist starting at the age of four, when my mother used to take me to visit the sidewalk artists in Greenwich Village on a regular basis. I started taking both art and acting lessons starting at the age of nine, and went to Sarah Lawrence to study art and theater. Somehow, I made the decision to become a Clinical Psychologist and stopped painting and acting until I was in my early fifties, when I started reconnecting with these two lifelong passions. I have chosen the following two paintings to exhibit because they reflect the necessity to remain optimistic during difficult times.
Courage

Resilience
This is an abstract oil painting that represents the resilience of human and other animal species having to cope with environmental decline.
