Sarah Lawrence College

Human Services & Education

Sarah Lawrence students have proven their leadership in national and local circles, where students have become involved in various service efforts. From tutoring students after school in Yonkers to interviewing participants for studies on issues such as low birth weights, Sarah Lawrence students are among the best ambassadors for the college and their generation.

This career community provides resources for students interested in making an impact on individual lives:

Education

Sarah Lawrence College produces some of the nation’s best educators, including the 2017 National Teacher of the Year. The Art of Teaching Program allows students to obtain their master’s and bachelor’s degree within five years, while the on-campus Early Childhood Center and Sarah Lawrence's nearby Center for the Urban River at Beczak give students the opportunity to learn while teaching. Students also gain outside experience, volunteering at education foundations and schools.

Health & Wellness

Sarah Lawrence College shares its founding family with neighboring Lawrence Hospital, just one of the many places the students part of our pre-health program have interned. On campus, they gain clinical experience, completing intensive research projects for conference, and assisting faculty members with their own studies. With access to leading world health organizations in Manhattan, Sarah Lawrence students intern at such organizations as Doctors Without Borders, Planned Parenthood, and the Columbia University Medical Center.
