This fall during her semester sabbatical, Filmmaking & Moving Image Arts faculty member Robin Starbuck will spend two months as a research filmmaker at the Arctic Culture Lab in Ilulissat, Greenland. During November and December, she will develop a hybrid film project that continues her longstanding exploration of Indigenous identity and place.
The Arctic Culture Lab is a multidisciplinary platform for artistic research that engages with local Indigenous communities and the broader scientific community in Northern Greenland. Its intention is to unite and foster a knowledge exchange between artists, scientists, cross border specialists, geopolitical experts, storytellers, and others from the local population.
