On-Campus Study and Social Spaces
Welcome to Your Space: You Belong Here
Slonim House is the epicenter for graduate activity and home to both the Graduate & Professional Studies offices as well as the Writing Program. It has a spacious living room, a cozy library, vending machine, lockers, a large kitchen area, and a graduate lounge in addition to classrooms. Slonim is open evenings and weekends for student gatherings and quiet study. A food sharing pantry is located on the second floor in Slonim’s kitchen for anyone who would like to drop off a donation or pick up some groceries.
The Barbara Walters Campus Center (affectionately known as “The Barb”), has both small and large meeting spaces, a fireplace, a cafe, and fine art gallery. And don’t forget to check out the Campbell Sports Center with a pool, indoor track, dance studios, squash courts, and a gym filled with cardio and strength equipment.
Each graduate program has a space that students can call “home.” Art of Teaching and Child Development are located in Wilford. You can find Theatre and Dance students hanging out in the Performing Arts Center, and Dance/Movement Therapy peers in MacCracken. Human Genetics is snugly tucked away in Wrexham, located in the western part of campus. And of course, be sure to come by Slonim frequently for social events and to be in community with our MFA in Writing students.
The Esther Raushenbush Library is central to academic life at Sarah Lawrence. Its diverse resources and congenial atmosphere foster both independent and collaborative work. The library features a computer lab and electronic classrooms designed to accommodate multimedia presentations, resource sharing, and library instruction sessions, as well as more informal spaces. Students make use of the library’s collections, research assistance, and relaxing study atmosphere. Learn more about the library.
Be sure to stop by and say hello to “Buttercup” and “Westley,” the library’s resident turtles and honorary librarians.
