Visiting campus is one of the best ways to experience life as a Sarah Lawrence student. We offer visits—which include a short information session followed by a student-led walking tour of campus—on weekdays throughout the year, plus Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters.
Campus is located in beautiful Bronxville, NY, which is about thirty minutes north of Midtown Manhattan. Visits usually take about two hours.
High school seniors and transfer students who want a real feel for Sarah Lawrence’s academic culture are welcome to sit in on a class while on campus.
Class visits are available from October through early December and from February through April.
During the academic year, high school seniors and transfer students are invited to stay overnight on campus. You’ll be paired with a student host, who will show you around, introduce you to other students, and make sure you get an authentic experience of what it’s like to live, eat, and sleep on campus.
Overnight visits are scheduled on Monday through Wednesday nights and are available from October through mid-December and February through April.
Use this form if you are a high school guidance counselor or program organizer and wish to bring a large group of students to the Sarah Lawrence campus.
Please note that we can accommodate a maximum of 30 students per visit. 11th and 12th grade students are welcome for visits year-round, while 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students are welcome beginning in May.
Personal interviews are not a required part of the Sarah Lawrence application process, but they can provide an opportunity for students to talk individually with an admission representative to learn more about the College. Interviews—conducted by current seniors or admission staff—are an opportunity to ask the questions you want to ask, to meet personally with someone who knows the College well, and to get a sense of how your needs and interests would be met by Sarah Lawrence.
Off-campus interviews are available by appointment for students who cannot make it to campus. Depending on where you live, you might interview with an alumnus who lives in your area or via Skype with a Sarah Lawrence senior or admission counselor.
Off-campus interviews are available to first-year applicants from September through late-January and to transfer applicants from September through March.
