The tastiest tradition at SLC 🥧 Who else is tired just looking at all the pies @slcprez baked for students? #Repost @slcprez ・・・ 2023 pie baking ✅ It’s become something of a tradition for me to bake pies for students who are staying on campus over the break… (While I had baked a few pies with students in previous years, the first year I baked pies FOR students was in Fall 2020, that first fall in the pandemic when students on campus couldn’t go home. So count this as a good tradition to come out of the pandemic.) This year’s offerings: 10 Apple (including 2 vegan and 2 gluten-free) 6 Sweet potato (5 topped with mini-marshmallows by popular demand) 6 Strawberry-rhubarb (including 2 vegan and 2 gluten-free) 10 Pecan 8 Blueberry-cranberry for a total of 40 (!) pies that I hope students will enjoy consuming. (That’s a record, btw… I had to double-stack them on the counter for the photo.) Check out my story highlight if you’re interested in seeing the pie-making process. (And to the person who replied “thousands” in answer to the query on my story about how many pies I would make… wow, just wow). If you’re an undergrad or grad student who is going to be around for the break and would like to have a pie (for yourself or to share with friends), and you will be able to pick it up on WEDNESDAY MORNING, please email me (president@sarahlawrence.edu) with the subject line “PIE!” and your request (and your rank-ordered back-up choices). First come, first served, - quantities limited - available while supplies last. Please note, usually all the pies are reserved within 24 hours. If you’re planning on attending the UG Friendsgiving on Friday, it’s still fine to take one of these pies! They are also making pies for the Friendsgiving, so there will be plenty there. #beststudents #foodforthought #ilovesarahlawren ce #slcpresidentshouse
