Office of Residential Life
Through the lens of Residential Education and Community Well-Being, the Office of Residential Life focuses on building and stewarding a positive living and learning experience for students. The work of Residential Life involves developing and implementing a Residential Education curriculum, leading a team of undergraduate Resident Advisors as they work to enhance the well-being of their communities, managing housing-related operations including the annual housing process, and overseeing the student conduct process. The Residential Life professional staff consists of the Director of Residential Education and Community Well-Being, the Associate Director of Housing Operations and Environmental Well-Being, two Senior Resident Fellows, and four Resident Fellows. They work together to accomplish the mission of Residential Life, as well as in partnership with the Offices of Student Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging and Student Involvement and Leadership to promote overall student well-being on campus.
Resident Advisors
Thirty-three undergraduate students serve as Resident Advisors (RAs). RAs are vital members of the Residential Life team who are charged with engendering positive, respectful, and sustainable communities that demonstrably promote students’ learning, personal growth, and belonging. RAs endeavor to directly support their peers and enhance their campus experience. RAs are expected to build community through intentional programming,one-on-one encounters with residents, and other engagement and interventions. RAs are expected to safeguard the campus community by knowing, articulating, and enforcing community standards and other housing and College policies. Communication will be established at the beginning of the year between the RAs and their individual residents.
