Academic Resources and Support

The Learning Commons at Sarah Lawrence College is committed to providing comprehensive and inclusive academic support services that meet the needs of a vibrant and diverse student body. Our objective is to provide a wide range of helpful resources that will enable all students to thrive within the College’s unique pedagogical structure. The Learning Commons is located on the main floor of the library.

Expository writing at Sarah Lawrence is seen as a way of understanding any discipline rather than as a discrete and separate skill. Expository writing is an integral part of every academic course, as well as performing and creative arts classes, at the College.

Access and Disability Services (ADS) provides reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities. ADS is available to support registered students with the transition to college, self advocacyassistance, and academic coaching.

The Esther Raushenbush Library is essential to the academic life of Sarah Lawrence College. The library’s diverse resources are directly tied to and support the school’s academic mission.

The Registrar’s Office maintains the permanent records of current and former students. Additionally, this office oversees various academic operations such as course registration, degree audits and graduation requirements, and transfer credit eligibility.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords eligible students certain rights with respect to their education records.
