Mike Siegelbaum was a Jewish-American private who served in France and Germany, and was among the troops who liberated the Ohrdruf concentration camp. From December 1943, when he was drafted, to December 1945, when he was released, he wrote almost daily to his beloved wife “Babe”, and their infant daughter…
Director Rosanne Ehrlich, Siegelbaum’s daughter, uses her father’s letters as the narrative thread of Dear Babe, through which she interweaves gripping archival footage and family photos to create a personal commentary on patriotism, the folly of war, and the anchor that true love provides.
The event is open to the general public and is free of charge, so bring your friends.
