Dana-Ain Davis
The history of reproductive politics has, in many cases, erased the important contributions of women of color. Often the term reproductive justice is without proper citation. In this talk, Davis will tell a story about the emergence of reproductive justice, focusing on the role that Black women have played in that struggle.
Dana-Ain Davis is Associate Chair of the Graduate Program in Urban Affairs at Queens College and is also on the faculty of Anthropology and Critical Psychology at the Graduate Center. Davis has been active in the reproductive justice movement for over 25 years. She recently published the book, Feminist Ethnography: Thinking Through Methodologies, Challenges and Possibilities, with Christa Craven.
