Priit Tender is an Estonian filmmaker—the director, designer and writer of more than 10 short animated films and a feature documentary. His work mixes a variety of animation techniques including 2D, 3D, and stop motion with live action film. Tender's films are driven by surreal imagery, black humor, and dark existential journeys. Many of Tender's films have won prizes and nominations from foremost animation festivals including, Annecy, Ottawa, Dresden, Fredrikstad, Utrecht, etc. His film The Maggott Feeder won the best Baltic film from the 2Annas Short Film Festival and the Cinema Union prize from the Yerevan International Festival. He has additionally won a Grand Prix from the Holland Animation Film Festival, a Best European Short Film award, and a special Jury prize from the Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan. Tender has held animation workshops and classes across Europe and the United States including the Royal College of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Kassel School of Art, Viborg, the Estonian Academy of Art, etc. He is currently a core animator at the famed Eesti Joonisfilm Studio, in Tallinn, Estonia.
