Jasmine has post-graduate training from The Ackerman Institute for the Family and NYC Health and Hospitals Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Jasmine is a Dance/Movement Psychotherapist and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with 10 years of experience working in community mental health settings. Jasmine has worked for Sanctuary For Families, Montefiore Medical Center, and The Postgraduate Center for Mental Health. Currently, Jasmine work as an individuals and couples therapist at Manhattan Play Therapy, as well as a full time clinician at Kings County Hospital. Jasmine’s hospital work focuses on bringing LGBTQ+ affirming care to both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing group therapy for patients managing chronic mental illness. Jasmine currently serves on the NY State Chapter board for the American Dance Therapy Association. In clinical practice, Jasmine supports each individual in feeling more at home within their body, mind, and community, locating attunement and empowerment through the somatic experience. SLC 2023-

This third course in a series of four on the methods and theory of dance/movement therapy for clinical practice will focus on the experience of embodiment and on broadening and deepening the students’ practice of dance/movement therapy, as we examine cultural, spiritual, and socioeconomic perspectives on dance and healing.
