The Balusters, the latest Broadway play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire ’92, won the 2026 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play on May 17. The production has also earned five Tony Award nominations, including Best Play, further cementing its place among the season’s most acclaimed new works. The Balusters opened in April to strong reviews, including a New York Times Critic's Pick.
