Sarah Lawrence and Community Organizations Celebrate Thriving Partnerships
On Thursday, August 3rd, the Anita L. Stafford Office of Community Partnerships and Engagement hosted its annual Community Summer Celebration at the Barbara Walters Campus Center.
This year’s Community Leadership Intern Program (CLIP) student participants presented learnings from their summer working and connecting with a number of SLC’s community partners: ArtsWestchester, the Center for the Urban River at Beczak, Groundwork Hudson Valley, Hearts and Homes for Refugees, the Hudson River Museum, Neighbors Link, Untermyer Garden Conservancy, Wartburg, WJCS Center Lane, Yonkers Arts, and the Yonkers Public Library. Jesse Montero, Director of the Yonkers Public Library, gave the keynote speech and the College recognized this year’s community award recipients:
- Community Connection Award 2023: Neighbors Link – Building stronger communities through immigrant empowerment and integration
- Campus Advocate Award 2023: Jennifer Melendez, Sarah Lawrence College, Director of Campus Operations
- Mara Gross Guardian Award 2023: Parthiban Muniandy, SLC Faculty, Sociology
