Faculty Emerita Eva Kollisch, who taught Comparative Literature, German, and Women’s Studies at Sarah Lawrence for three decades (1963-1993), has been featured in a new podcast by the Leo Institute. Exile, a podcast about Jewish lives under the shadow of fascism, is narrated by award-winning screen and stage actor Mandy Patinkin and features untold stories and firsthand accounts drawn from intimate letters, diaries, and interviews found in the Leo Baeck Institute’s vast archive. Kollisch, who was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1925, escaped Nazi-led Austria with her siblings via the Kindertransport in 1939. They settled with their parents in New York City in 1940.
