Literature Faculty Gillian Adler publishes second book exploring time in the Middle Ages
Esther Raushenbush Chair in Humanities Gillian Adler has published her second book, Alle Thyng Hath Tyme: Time and Medieval Life, co-authored with Paul Strohm. Alle Thyng Hath Tyme recreates medieval people’s experience of time as continuous, discontinuous, linear, and cyclical and shows how medieval people gained a nuanced and expansive sense of time that rewards attention today.
