Sarah Lawrence Activities Council (SLAC)
A student-run organization of volunteers, the Sarah Lawrence Activities Council (SLAC) coordinates and plans a variety of campus events including concerts, comedy nights, dances, and open mic nights. SLAC responds to students interests by bringing performers from outside SLC who include slam poets, speakers, musicians, and writers, among others. The aim of SLAC is to host events that reach all of the student body's interests. Many of the events include student performances. The SLAC members meet weekly to plan events for the student body and are always looking for feedback and new members. The Director of Student Activities serves as the primary advisor to SLAC.
The SLAC Films Series is more than just your average film club. Every week for the entire semester SLAC’s resident movie connoisseurs select and screen a hit film for all to see.
- Live Music
SLAC’s Live Music Series is where the cool kids hang out. Over the course of the year, the masterminds behind our Live Music Series seek out and deliver talented acts to SLC.
The SLAC Coffeehouse Series showcases the best talent out there: SLC talent! If you love open mic nights or have an affinity for MCing, this is the series for you!
The brains behind this series are tasked with maintaining and enhancing the storied SLC traditions we all so dearly love. These traditions include Midnight Breakfasts, Winter Carnival, the Annual SLC Spelling Bee, and many more.
- Dance Parties
SLAC’s Dance Parties Series is dedicated to bringing you one thing and one thing only: awesome dance parties! These energetic parties bring Sarah Lawrence to its knees on the dance floor.
SLAC’s Homegrown Series is the place for brand-new events, created by you. Want to have a tie dye party? Let’s do it! Freeze tag tournament? Alright! If you can dream it, the Homegrown Series is here to do it.
