Fall 2021 COVID-19 Testing on Campus

The College's testing plan for the fall semester at present is as follows:

  • The College conducted saliva PCR pooled tests for all residential students as part of check-in on each student's move-in day.
  • Throughout the semester, students who have not been vaccinated (due to a religious or medical exemption) or are not fully vaccinated (two weeks post the completion of a vaccination series) are required to participate in weekly COVID-19 testing on campus.
  • In alignment with CDC guidelines, vaccinated students will currently not participate in COVID-19 surveillance testing.
  • Students presenting with symptoms, regardless of vaccination status will be assessed and tested per a clinical assessment.

Athletics Department Testing

All colleges and universities who are members of the Skyline Conference, including Sarah Lawrence, are following the guidelines outlined in the NCAA's Resocialization of College Sport document. As such, fully vaccinated student athletes are not scheduled to participate in weekly or regular surveillance testing at this time. Student-athletes who are not fully vaccinated will test weekly.

Students in On-Campus Isolation and Quarantine Daily Counts

On-campus isolation housing is set aside from the College's general housing and used for resident students who have tested positive for the virus or who display symptoms and are awaiting test results.

On-campus quarantine housing is also set aside from the College's general housing and is used for unvaccinated (or not yet fully vaccinated) resident students who have been exposed to COVID-19 and/or are a close-contact of an individual who tests positive for the virus.

Data is updated daily to reflect previous day's information. (Please note that isolation and quarantine numbers may not match testing figures due to reasons for isolation or quarantine stated above).

Students in Off-Campus Isolation and Quarantine Daily Counts

The below graph depicts quarantine and isolation information reported to the College by campus-going students (commuter students) and is updated daily to reflect the previous day's values. Commuter students are strongly encouraged to self-report to Health & Wellness the results of any test they receive on their own during the semester.
