What is the College's mask policy?
Sarah Lawrence is a mask-friendly campus, where all members of the community are encouraged to wear masks at any time, based upon their individual comfort levels and personal risk considerations. In keeping with our Principles for Mutual Respect, faculty, staff, and students should support each other in making these personal decisions. We strongly recommend that everyone carry a mask with them at all times, as the need to be masked may vary on campus, as described below.
Effective Monday, September 19, 2022, masks are voluntary throughout campus, with the following exceptions in indoor settings:
- The Health & Wellness Center
- College transportation
Because students, faculty, and staff are required to participate in instructional, advisory, and support activities in-person and may meet multiple times per week for a prolonged period of time in close proximity, individual faculty and staff may elect to require that students continue masking under the following specific circumstances:
- Individual faculty members may elect to require masks in classrooms, labs, or other instructional spaces, including during conference and student advisory meetings. These requirements will be clearly communicated, in writing to students by the beginning of the second week of classes.
What is the College’s visitor policy?
Visitors are welcome on campus, but must adhere to all COVID mitigation policies in place at the time of their visit. All visitors to campus over the age of six months must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination (if eligible) or a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of arrival. Both PCR and rapid tests, including home test kits, are acceptable.
Guests will be permitted in all College facilities, including student dorms, provided that they have followed the appropriate registration process (for overnight visitors).
