A panel of advocates and activists will examine the intersections of incarceration, the Prison Industrial Complex, and immigration in the United States. Speakers include Jamila Hammami, founder of the Queer Detainee Empowerment Project; Mizue Aizeki, Deputy Director and Author at the Immigrant Defense Project; and Luisa Heredia, Public Policy professor at Sarah Lawrence College, whose work looks at migration control regimes, social movements, and inequalities in citizenship in the United States and Spain.
