Tambuco Percussion Ensemble has celebrated an acclaimed career, establishing itself among the finest percussion quartets today. Four time GRAMMY Nominees including Best Classical Album, Tambuco was founded in 1993 by four distinguished Mexican musicians and is ranked among the finest and most innovative in the world with a repertoire ranging from structuralist percussion music to a wide range of ethnic drum music and avante garde sound interpretation. Tambuco Percussion Ensemble is the visiting ensemble of the Jean Wentworth Music Residency, established by the Wentworth family in memory of revered concert pianist Jean Wentworth. The Tambuco Percussion Ensemble is Ricardo Gallardo, artistic director, Alfredo Bringas, Miguel González, Raúl Tudón and Edison Estrella, Technical Assistant. Tambuco’s appearance is generously supported by the Mexican National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA).
