A screening of Alive Inside: A Story of Music and Memory, which examines the effect of music on therapy for patients with memory disorders. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with Dr. Connie Tomaino, who was integral to the original music therapy program.
Dr. Concetta Tomaino is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function and was Senior Vice President for Music Therapy at Center Light Health System (formerly Beth Abraham Family of Health Services), where she worked from 1980 to 2016. Dr. Tomaino and the IMNF relocated to Wartburg in Mt. Vernon in 2017. Dr. Tomaino is internationally known for her research in the clinical applications of music and neurologic rehabilitation. She lectures on music therapy throughout the world. She is on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Lehman College, CUNY.
