Sonnet is a four-hand piano duo featuring pianists Bari Mort and Mi-Won Kim. They will be presenting an eclectic program including Mozart, Brahms, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, along with intriguing and charming more recent works by composers Chester Biscardi and Jeremy Goldsmith. A wide variety of pieces, there will surely be something for everyone.
The name "Sonnet" literally translates to "Four Hands" in Korean. "Son" means hand and "Net" means four. Pianists Mi-Won Kim and Bari Mort each received their Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School. Originally from Korea and New York respectively, they have successfully merged their inherently different origins and perspectives into a musical meeting of the minds.
