In this reading and conversation, trans and genderqueer poet TC Tolbert will discuss queer and trans possibilities for working with received traditional forms and so-called finon-poeticfl texts. This may lead us to consider the relationship(s) between textual bodies and gendered bodies. And then we may need to talk about architecture and racism Πthe space between container and constraint. TC will also read from his first book, Gephyromania, and discuss the process of co-editing Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics, the first anthology of transgender poetry. Questions are encouraged. All of them.
TC Tolbert often identifies as a trans and genderqueer feminist, collaborator, dancer, and poet but really s/he™s just a human in love with humans doing human things. The author of Gephyromania and several chapbooks,TC is also co-editor of Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics. His favorite thing in the world is Compositional Improvisation (which is another way of saying being alive). www.tctolbert.com
