The discovery of the Higgs boson by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations at CERN's Large Hadron Collider solved the puzzle of the mass of fundamental particles. In this talk Dr. Sarah Demers, the Horace D. Taft Associate Professor of Physics at Yale University, will introduce the Higgs, discuss the discovery, and talk about our next steps. Dr. Demers will introduce her collaboration with choreographer, dance, and director of Dance Studies at Yale, Professor Emily Coates. The collaboration began in a co-teaching exercise, and grew in a number of directions, including considering the Higgs boson together.
