“Ask a Scientist” is an event for 180 Yonkers middle school students participating in the Summer STEM 2018 program. Students have been spending the summer doing hands-on marine biology research at Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at Beczak (CURB): testing water samples, collecting sediment, and catching and releasing fish and other estuarine animals.

Social Justice Collective Summer Program Exhibition

Designed to give high school students an immersive experience into Sarah Lawrence College's pedagogy, the Social Justice Collective provides students theoretical, historical, and present-day perspectives on social and cultural issues involving class, gender, sexuality, and race. This interdisciplinary intensive will give students a chance to learn, discuss, and apply their knowledge through the creation of mixed-media art installation pieces, culminating in this exhibition of each student’s work. This event is not open to the public.

As part of a long-running partnership, Sarah Lawrence College and the International Film Institute of New York (IFI) offer a unique opportunity to learn the art of filmmaking in an in-depth, supportive, and intimate program. Pre-college and adult students will showcase their short films in a variety of genres that were created in just under five weeks. This event is not open to the public.
