Join us to hear more about the current state of education in Tanzania. The talk will be given by Mr. Samo Matiko, a native Tanzanian who has been working at Mainsprings’ Joseph and Mary School since 2010. He will compare the traditional methods of teaching to those used within the Joseph and Mary School and exploring what needs to change for the country as it moves forward.

All literary “I”s are made of glass. No matter how naturalistic they appear—how convincing they may be to the naked eye, that is—they are as synthetic as Colombo’s right eye. With brief digressions into ophthalmologic curiosities, this talk will be an illustrated anatomy of three varieties of literary “I”s.

The Graduate Commencement Ceremony takes place Thursday, May 17, under a tent (rain or shine) on Westlands South Lawn and lasts approximately 1 ½ hours. A light reception on the North Lawn follows the ceremony. The tent will open for seating one hour prior to the ceremony. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
