Based in life-course ethnography, Stephen Ruszczyk will follow the biographical narratives of four undocumented youths in New York City as they move from high school towards their mid-twenties. Their boundaries of inclusion and exclusion have been continually re-written as localities contest national restrictions on immigration. Of particular interest is how gendered legal structures and family roles create different illegalized opportunity structures for these four youths.

Stephen Ruszczyk is an assistant professor at Montclair State University. He received a PhD from the City University of New York. His research interests include undocumented youth, immigration, citizenship, Latinos, urban sociology, organizations, and education.
