Samuel Stein

BA, Sarah Lawrence College. MA, Hunter College. Urban geographer who specializes in issues of labor and housing in New York City. Worked for a number of labor and housing organizations in New York and New Jersey, including the Service Employees International Union, the Laborers International Union, New York State Tenants and Neighbors, and the Center for New York City Neighborhoods. Along with Hunter College professor Peter Kwong, he is currently completing the manuscript of a co-authored book on the politics of gentrification in Manhattan’s Chinatown. SLC, 2014–
