Psychology faculty member Adam Brown has received a collaborative research grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop next generation research tools for understanding human social systems. He will serve as a consultant in the development of software designed to inform decision-makers about policy options and their possible outcomes, for example when preparing humanitarian relief operations. He will also conduct studies to test and evaluate the software prototype, and with the assistance of Sarah Lawrence students, he will perform pilot behavioral research in his Cognition and Emotion Lab to hone the project's research methodology and robustness.
