The Annual Sarah Lawrence Folk Festival

Friday, April 2, 2010, beginning at 7:00pm
Saturday, April 3, 2010, beginning at 3:00pm

The Sarah Lawrence College Folk Festival is a two-day celebration of some of the finest songwriting and performance by young artists from across the folk-music spectrum in the completely acoustic environment of the Slonim Living Room.

As in years past, not only is the festival free and open to the public but also our famous homemade baklava (both vegan and non) will be given out for free throughout the two days, and Saturday night will include a gourmet potluck dinner starring the festival’s famous chili.

Our festival focuses on the cutting edge of the folk world, featuring artists who have, in most cases, made a significant contribution to the art while still in their 20s.

This year will include a local showcase of musicians (from the NYC and Westchester folk/new folk/anti-folk scenes) on Friday, April 2, and several out-of-state guests on Saturday, April 3, with Sarah Lawrence performers opening throughout the weekend. Over 20 incredible artists in all.
